STAYING IN ABBOTTABAD
Travellers wanting city comforts, or arriving late, often base in Abbottabad, which has hotels across every budget, and treat Thandiani as a dawn-to-dusk excursion. It works, but you surrender the two best hours the mountain has: last light and first light. If you can, sleep on the ridge at least one night.
